As many political analysts in various countries (Mexico included) have said, there is still some people with a nefarious ideology in US, people who would hate to se an African American in the government.
Today, a plot to assassinate Barack Obama was discovered and two white supremacist were held as they allegedly plotted to go on a national killing spree against African Americans in the South. They wanted to kill 88 people, 14 by beheading. This was reported in various news sites, but I am posting this after reading the report in The Huffington Post.
This is not entirely surprising since, even if US has advanced in their laws to give same opportunities and rights to African American, there are still individuals who have hate as doctrine in their minds.
It's sad that some people cannot see beyond the color of the skin to choose someone as President. They only see their own twisted ideas of how the world should be. To me, any person has the right to live, to thrive, to work and make their dreams come true. Anyone can achieve, if they try enough, their aspirations and the fact that he or she was born with certain look is not important at all.
I believe US citizens are better than this prejudice, so this would be an isolated incident, and in the election they will choose the best man for the job, a man that happens to be African American.
